Thomas Barkin, President of the Richmond Federal Reserve Bank, said on Monday that he doesn’t know how long supply shortages will last, as reported by Reuters.

Barkin further noted that he expects inflation to moderate to normal levels over time.

These comments don’t seem to be having a noticeable impact on the USD’s performance against its major rivals. As of writing, the US Dollar Index was up 0.1% on the day at 91.89. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 Index continues to trade sideways a little below 4,300.
